What is mucilage?

Mucilage is a thick, gluey substance that is produced by nearly all plants and some microorganisms. These microorganisms include protists. Why do plants need mucilage ? They use it to help with freezing tolerance in the plant structures.


Why is mucilage good for us?

Mucilage is good for respiratory issues and is extremely works well with bronchitis. It has the ability to coat the bronchial tubes with a soothing layer of protection from dry sore coughs.
