Red Clover ( Trifolium pratense )

Red clover was used for a variety of conditions including whooping cough, cancer, asthma, high cholesterol, and osteoporosis.

Description

Red clover ( Trifolium ) is a herbaceous perennial plant, it will grow in various sizes depending on conditions, it will typically grow between ( 8 - 31 ) inches tall. The leaves can grow between ( 0.6 - 1.2 ) inches long and ( 0.3 - 0.6 ) inches wide. The flowers are dark pink almost purple in color they typically grow taller then they do wide ranging from ( 0.5 - 0.6 ) inches tall and ( 0.2 - 0.5 ) inches wide.


Habitat

Trifolium is originally native to Europe , Western Asia, and northwest Africa, but over the years has become naturalized throughout North and South America. It will grow as high as 6,450 meters above sea level. As well can be found growing in open plains, grass lands, along road ways, pastures, vacant lots, meadows and in yards.
